As you will see from some of my other reviews i am not easily pleased, I tend to cook a lot of Indian food at home so can be quite critical. The Jarna is a great little restaurant, and it is very clear to see that the kitchen staff actually care about what they are cooking. A good range of dishes is available although some of the more unusual ones could do with an explanation. The place itself was very cosy, we were given a little booth decked out with curtains! The staff were attentive and my empty pint glass was quickly spotted and filled up in record time. The quality of the meat was good, nice big chunks of well cooked chicken, the naan was one of the best I have ever tasted, all the food was clearly fresh and we did not get the warmed over papadums that other restaurants tend to try and pass off, (only 60p each, bargain). The staff were good and each clearly had their own duties. Great value for money, great service, reasonably priced drinks, I am definatley going to make this one my regular. Also we got a little free drink at the end which was a nice touch.

In my hunt for the best curry house in the Bournemouth/New Forest area this one currently has my vote. Taking my kids back tonight!.

Jarna is the best indian that I have had. As a fan of indian food, I regularly eat at them, keen to find the best. Luckily this is not too far away as have always come back to it after venturing further afield to find something which comes up to their standards. Eating in is very nice, as it is very well decorated and has a very good atmosphere. Despite being in a small space, the tables feel roomier than you would imagine, with many sectioned off into little booths. Staff are very helpful, pleasant, friendly and have a very good knowledge of the menu. Food is as I have said, very nice! value for money and they have a well sized menu. Take aways are very good too, free within a few miles with orders over £10 or £15 i think, sometimes, they throw in some free poppadoms too.
Overall, I don't think there is much better.

The Jarna Indian Restaurant in New Milton offers both dining in and takeaway, and admittedly I've never actually 'eaten in', but I've sat in the restaurant for hours waiting for takeaways so I almost feel as if I have... I've soaked-up the atmosphere at any rate!

Once you've finally got your takeaway, the food is really quite good... the portions are generous with lots of meat, and although it's not the best I've ever tasted, it's not expensive either so I think it's pretty good value. However, when you phone up and order your food, whatever time they tell you it will be ready, add at least half an hour or be prepared to pace the shopping parade instead.
