The food's really nice. It goes a bit beyond standard fare in some cases but then it also does onion rings with the steak. A good thing, if you have a group with mixed tastes. So a burger for one person and something a bit more 'posh' for another.

Everything is cooked really nicely and seasoned perfectly.

The staff are friendly and attentive.

This place has been turned round by the new owners. it used to be incredibly slow at getting drinks and food to the table and the menu was dull. Now it really hits the spot.

Olde Worlde Pub with Great Grub! 3rd September 2008

This is a great little pub. It's quite old, and has different levels so not brill if you use a wheelchair. If you can get past that problem then it's a lovely olde worlde pub with real atmosphere.

They also serve excellent food here, and it's not just your standard steak and chips sort of place either. They actually cook proper food on the premises so you have lots of quality food to choose from. They always have a good selection of vegetarian food, and meat eaters won't be disappointed either. Hubby and I like this place when going out with friends who are vegetarian as they cater to his meat loving side and also to our friends vegetarian requirements and give everyone good choice.

They're also not pushy here. Last time we ate here, we took our time over the meal and I think we were there for about 3 hours in total, and they really didn't seem to mind. There was none of the tutting and whipping plates away that you get in some places, it's a much more relaxed atmosphere here.
