Reviews for Primark
I just love this shop! It’s amazing, it sells all the clothes you could ever want and in all the colours that you want them. It sells a variety of clothes and also sells clothes for children, babies and has a menswear section. It sells things for your home which are located in the basement and they are also reasonably priced. They sell cushions and there really cheap too about £4. You can get a really cheap outfit for a night out from here and because its so cheap you can get another one the week after or whenever you need one. The clothes themselves are made pretty well and the wash well too which is surprising when you consider how much they cost. I wouldn't recommend going around dinner time because it can be so busy and clothes are thrown everywhere but you have to look beyond it.
Every time I enter Primark, it infuriates me up so much I have to leave as i just can’t stand it. The best time to go is early in the morning because at any other time it’s always jam packed most of whom don’t care if they bang into you or not, or they catch you with the wheels of their pram. The shop itself is huge covering three floors, with women’s on the ground floor, children’s on the first floor an men’s and home things in the basement. However even though it’s a huge store and has lots of bargains it’s frustrating looking for clothes as most of them are just thrown all over the floor or are on the wrong hanger. I only go here if I have to.
I don't have a primark in my home town blackburn so i regularly go to manchester to fill my wardrobe in this primark! I can't believe how many bargains there are in this store! I managed to get a gorgeous pink winter coat for just £10 and it is very stylish and everything you would expect from an expensive shop such has british home stores and marks and spencers! There is always a great range of clothes to choose form and they are always very reasonably priced. They also do a great range of kids clothes at an exeptional price. I managed to buy my son nearly an entire new wardrobe for less than £30 and that is brilliant as we all know how fast kids grow out of thier clothes!
This store has not been open for too long and it is looking really nice. It’s a little bigger than most of the stores that are dotted around the UK, but it still sells all the things they sell and more. This store sells a lot of foreign brands and I believe is why they are able to offer them at an affordable price for everyone from students, to single parents, to large families or anyone who doesn’t want to spend the earth on food. I shop here regularly and just love the beans, these are probably the best beans I have ever tasted. Being on market street its very handy for lunch.
Well where can I start, anyone who has ever shopped here will know that it is simply the best place to shop. It has all the latest fashions, so you will never be out of fashion again. It has the best shoes that you can buy around and they even start at £1! All the clothes in here are all cheap but for the price they are really amazing quality, the only thing that you have to watch is that you don’t bump into someone on a night out and they have the same top as yourself Not only does it sell clothes for women but it does menswear which is just as good and it does children’s wear, bedding, bathroom things and cushions!!! Great shop for anyone who hasn’t been here your missing out.
Primark is FANTASTIC for shoes! Whenever I get shoes from Primark they are always really comfortable - I struggle a lot to find comfortable shoes in other shops (and often end up paying lots of money for a pair I end up not wearing). For everyday shoes - i.e. pumps, trainers, "Converse-a-likes" - they're great. Sure, they wear out in a few months if you're wearing them everyday but to be honest the canvas shoes I like wear out within a few months anyway. It's more like a question of would I rather pay £4 for a pair that will last 3 months or £20 for a pair that will last 4 months? (I'm not actually sure if the more expensive ones do even last longer. They might be the same.)
The other thing Primark is great for is COSTUMES. If you're going to a fancy dress party or a themed night out (if you're a first year student you'll do this at least once) you don't want to end up spending £15 on a top, £20 on skirt/shorts/trousers, £15 on shoes, £20 on assorted accessories, etc. for things you're only going to wear once! Much better to pick it up from Primark (ebay's another good option, if you plan ahead enough to wait for it to be posted) and get it all for a fraction of the price. Primark are generally good for anything you might not wear very often - things you definitely need, but you aren't going to wear them enough to justify spending lots of money on it. I recently bought a nude bra from Primark for exactly that reason.
I've also bought a few tops from Primark over the years and to be honest, I've been very happy with them. People always say "oh, they fall apart after one wash!" but I've never found this. Maybe I'm just pickier with what I buy or something, but the few tops I have bought from Primark have been worn quite a lot of times and are still in great condition.
The main downside is that if you go at a busy time, you have to try stuff on at home really. If you manage to find a time (e.g. in the middle of the day on a weekday) when there's no one there, it's fine, but often the changing rooms are pretty packed and the queue's not worth the effort. But they have a 28 day returns policy so it's fine to bring things back later.
One of the busiest shops for sure in Manchester. It sells many inexpensive items of clothing and has been filled with customers almost every single time I've visited. The clothes aren't of the best quality, but you can pick up good bargains. Primark sells hair accessories, jewellery, scarfs, bags, belts, etc as well as clothes. A lot of the items, I wouldn't buy in Primark because of the poor quality of design and the choice of material, but the price is such that if you are budgeting it is ideal. Jeans can cost as little as £8, although you are lacking in suitable choice - I say suitable as in I'm assuming you wouldn't go for e.g. a tartan patterned, shocking design.
There is always a lot of staff on hand, but because of the amount of customers, unfortunately you do get many irresponsible ones who just dump clothes anywhere and everywhere, which makes it a poor shopping experience for others.
If you pick the right time to go, Primark can be a relatively nice shopping experience, pick the wrong time, and you needn't bother trying out clothes, the shop can get so busy that customers are all in the way of each other. The queue for the till can be absolutely horrendous and although they have more than 5 tills, the wait can be a lot longer than in most clothing shops.
Some argue that Primark is unethical and it is easy to see why by looking at the price tags, combined with the large proportion of clothing that is pretty much unwearable for most people because of design and material, it might be better to go to a more expensive shop, who are both ethical and have better choices of clothing available.
What you see is what you get with Primark. Although you pay nice cheap prices, the quality is not the best. Especially T-shirts which I have brought from there in the past quickly go out of shape in the wash.
However Primark is fantastic for kids clothing, who obviously are continually growing and need clothes which can get dirty etc.
Personally I've brought some great bags from there from patterned cotton day bags to leather going out bags. Also the shoes aren't too bad, with some cute little pumps. I'd also recommend the bobbles etc but not the socks!! They only last a few weeks.
On the good side the store is MASSIVE and you'll generally find something you're looking for (its good for summer gear). However theres no exclusivity and you're bound to find someone you know in the same outfit. Plus it's always chocka busy and the staff are not very friendly.
When it's good it's very good and very cheap! I'm not sure how the size of this store compares to other Primark's across the country, but it's certainly much bigger than the one I used to shop at in London.
I'm told by friends that it's very good for kid's clothes, but I normally shop there for clothes for myself and household items.
The household stuff is generally fine. I brought a couple of throw over covers for the sofas there about three years ago, which I'm still using.
The clothing stock changes very quickly and one complaint that I have is that popular sizes (especially 14 and 16) sell out very rapidly. Quality is very good for the price, apart from the footwear, which I wouldn't recommend as I've had two pairs of shoes break on me just a few days after purchase.
My favourites are the underwear and nightwear, and the cheap fashion handbags.
The staff are always pleasant, better than in many more expensive shops. Highly recommended, but avoid the shoes.
This shop is positively huge, it is based around 3 floorsbut still has all the bargains you expect of Primark just more of them.
Ther are lifts and escalators so easy to access even with prams in tow.
The staff are really friendly and helpful, they always seem to be tidying the shop.
Tons of choice for adults and childrens fashions, shoes, bags and accessories also a lage fashionable homewares section. There are only 2 problems with this store which are that it gets extremely busy, hundreds of customers a day and in the summer it gets very hot especially upstairs.
Right in the middle of town so no parking nearby.
