Reviews for Sapporo Teppanyaki
Good restaurant, I enjoyed it. A lot more "audience participation" than your typical teppanyaki, so maybe best to go in a small group rather than a couple if this would scare you, although chances are this was just the chef we had. Sushi was excellent, with a selection of sauces as well as just soy. Some interesting choices of dishes, e.g. teppanyaki duck with raspberry sauce, as well as more "normal" ideas. If teppanyaki's not your thing, you can choose to sit at the sushi and noodle bar instead, although you get both if you sit at the teppanyaki counter. Prices high, go if you're looking to impress someone or if you're feeling rich!
Edit: I have been back since and not got teppanyaki - one thing to note is that it's REALLY REALLY loud. You don't notice this so much when you're participating in it but when you're across the other side of the restaurant trying to have a conversation it's a tad more annoying!
You sit around the chef while he juggles your food and performs tricks in front of you. The food was excellent - my girlfriend said it was the best sushi she had ever had. The Teppanyaki food is cooked in a few courses and you eat it as soon as it comes off the hotplate. My duck Teppanyaki was excellent. A good place to take someone on a date, but probably not so good in a large group because of the seating arrangements.
