Reviews for Kro Piccadilly

This is such a great place to just have a sit down and watch the world go by. Its situated right on the edge of Piccadilly gardens and is a great place to just have a coffee or an alcoholic drink after you have had a stressful day shopping or even after work. It has a really relaxed atmosphere with a choice of stools or a leather sofa to sit in. The food is also really nice too and they have some good offers on so why not get a coffee and a piece of cake! ;-) It also looks nice in the winter when the ice rink is there and its all lit up, it looks beautiful.

I couldn't wait for this to open when i found out it was going to be another Kro Bar. I just love going to Kro on Oxford Road because you can have a little something to eat and a few drinks before going to a gig or a pub crawl! Kro has a nice and stylish relaxing atmosphere where you can chill out on the sofa's or sit on the stools and meet up with some friends. It has really nice pub food which isn't that dear. With its ideal location its great to stop off for a drink after shopping and watch over piccadilly gardens or a great place to start the night off.

Kro Piccadilly is in a prime location in Manchester city centre, and particularly at Christmas has a superb view over the gardens onto the ice rink and tree - you can watch people coming and going and it is just lovely. Its one of those places where as a student you can easily feel out of place, all the staff are extremely attractive and the setting is very modern. Ive not tried the food, just coffees and drinks. The coffee/cake deal is brilliant and the cakes superb - just melt in the mouth deliciousness all round! The alcoholic drinks though, hmm; we paid over £14 for 2 single vodka orange juice - ok if you're a city high flyer but not as a student so depends on your situation and your crowd really. I think there are much nicer places with better atmospheres for a lot less cash - try temple or matt and phreds. Ideal for a morning coffee and a browse of the newspaper though!

I met a friend in here the other day between getting off a bus and getting on a train and it's ideal for doing just that. I was never sure about the big grey wall in piccadilly Gardens but this bar, and the other new ones, seem to raise the profile of the area. Such a central location is great for city centre workers amd shoppers. The bar has a great range of drinks, especially nice beers. I didn't sample the food but my sister has eaten there and says it is nice standard bar food. The decor is great and it has a busy atmosphere even mid-week.

Great location in the midst of Manchester's bar and shopping scene. There's a more than extensive bar menu of cocktails and the usual run of the mill beers. So far , so average. However, they do have a great 'by the glass' wine menu, where you need not go for the most expensive Cab Sauv to ensure something thats drinkable, in fact their Chilean Cab Sauv is great, just the right mix of vanilla and tannis. And with more choice than the usual 'house' wine and accomanying 3 'others' for selection Kro's drinks menu offers something for from the 'cheap and free flowing', to the higher end connoisseur.

There was 3 of us the night that i went here, and we all ordered food. Avoid the olives, they are straight from the fridge, and straight from a vast vat of less than quality olive selections. Tapas this is not. But if your after a 'quick snack' with middle of the row sandwich selection then its hard to go wrong. The height of excitment are the 'wraps' homous, roasted vegetable and... oh i'm so bored with the food menu i've forgotten what else!

there's a nice mix of after workies here, and 'dressed to the nines' couples on dates, that gives the place a friendly vibe. The restaurant on the otherside of the bar has a cosy atmosphere and proximity to the lavotories - make of that what you will!

In short best for drinks, or bar snacks, less great is the possibility of a fine dining experience.

probably trying to be too cool for school!

This is the 3rd KRO bar to spring up in Manchester. It is bang in the heart of the City Centre and the perfect place to take a break from all that retail therapy. Serves a good selection of beers, spirits, coffee and food (including an all day veggie breakfast). Very busy on Saturdays from lunchtime onwards. No idea what it is like in the evenings.
