Reviews for Hard Rock Cafe

I've been here twice and I have to say it's a nice place, but with all the hype surrounding it (semi famous names singing there and the autographs on the walls) it's not as impressive as it sounds.

Though with it being the Printworks you don't expect great value for money, the starters were around £7 and going upwards, with the main meal hitting £14 sometimes. It didn't seem worth paying to me, so my only response was 'just a coke'.

Which wasn't cheap either, when it actually came. I have to say, this place is kind of living off the name, that's what it seems like to me. The staff were extremely slow, our food came chicken piece by chicken piece.

I'd advise you to go just for the gigs, when they have them, and then keep the spending to a minimum! It's a nice idea but I'm not sure they quite pull it off, it's an average place with a lot of hype surrounding it, and I don't think I'll bother with it again unless it's a special occasion.

Try it if you want.

Wednesday evenings may not be the best time to visit! We had to wait 15 minutes for a table, however when we were seated there was only around another 10 tables eating, I can only put this down to the fact that there was only 2 waiters at the time who did do a sterling job though!

Our only real problem was with my starter of chicken wings, I had commented that they were not very hot to my daughter and as I worked my way through them they got colder, a bit pinker, and finally raw flesh. (Note to waiter, when someone tells you food is undercooked, dont argue that its supposed to look like that, go check it!)
Anyway it was whisked away, and taken off the bill.

My daughter chose to eat her pork chop without the bramley apple topping which was a pity as this was the only thing that made the meat moist, other than that it was overcooked and dry.
I had the Red, White and Blue burger which was perfectly cooked, medium as I asked and was pink like it should be. The only downside was the blue cheese which was so strong it was overpowering the taste of everything else, and I had to admit defeat!

Full kudos to the manager though, he came out and explained that the temperature knob on the machine that cooked the chicken had been knocked and was consequently not cooking the chicken through properly. Not only did he take off the chicken wings, but also gave us 50% off the rest of the bill, as we had just ordered 2 rather expensive cocktails as a treat I def wasnt going to complain!

I would also recommend not sitting in the booths at the back, halfway through our meal some god awful attempt at music started up next door, and was so loud the floor and table was vibrating!

All round it was ok, but I'm not rushing to go back!

I've visited the hard rock cafe five times in the last three years.Everytime i have enjoyed my meal, the only problem i have encounted is slow service, no matter how busy or quiet it is you have to wait atleast five mins to order a drink.I understand that the servers may have other things to do but please, its you're job.

As you walk into the HRC you will hear rock music playing on their PA system and you will see the walls filled with rock stars guitars, drums, pictures and autographs to name a few.Try to get seated right at the back in a booth, that was no-one is sitting right next to you and you feel more relaxed.

Food wise the place is good to very good, there is enough choice to suite anyone and the drinks are free refills !

The cheese mash is to die for,try it along with a steak.I have not tried desert so i cannot comment but they look excellent.Once you have paid up and decide to leave, check out the gift shop and pick up some hard rock cafe goods.

We went to the hard rock cafe for some tea before going on to the MEN arena and thought we were in plenty of time – once in there we were left for 20 minutes before anyone came and even took our drink order and then a further ten before the drinks were brought and our food order was taken, as there were a small party of us we thought the food might take a while but this was verging on silly! The food did take a while so an hour and a quarter after entering we finally got our food. Not the fastest service. The food was good and the price reasonable but we had to hurry with our food as we had to get somewhere else. Food tasted good but service let it down!
