Reviews for Grinch
The Grinch is quite a popular little place to go. I first went here a while back on my Christmas night out and I had a really good time. After the Christmas do I thought I’d go back and try it again not when it was full of works nights out and it’s a good place to start the night off in. It also serves meals which are good too and they aren’t too dear. I’ve heard that the pizza is really good although I don’t eat it myself. I’d recommend this place either for something to eat or a night out.
Grinch is a really nice place to start your night out. The food and service is really nice, and very reasonably priced. I just had a basic margarita pizza, but it was very tasty and obviosly made with fresh ingrediants. I did however find the it a little crowded on a friday night, so I wouldn't recommend it for quite romantic night out. I would definatly go again and recommend it to friends. We were there as a large group and they catered to us well, and got everybody's meals out at the same time.
I first tried the Grinch on a Works Christmas doo and i was really impressed. It wasn't a traditional christmas menu which at first i wasn't that impressed with but when the food came it was really nice. The service was pretty slow which is a bit understandable considering that the place was fully booked but i was with friends so didn't really notice the wait. However i had a really good night and have been back since as it has some good offers on at lunch and early tea time. Its also one of them places to pop in for a drink and is definitely worth a try.
I have to say that I did prefer Grinch when none of it's furniture matched and the decor was a bizarre mix of kitch, lime green and pink walls and odd pictures
It's now slightly more 'corporate' and uniform, which I think detracts from the atmosphere, but it is still very popular and it seems to change it's function throughout the day
It's great to pop in for coffee when shopping, or even have a quick bite to eat - the lunch time menu is not too adventurous, but every time that I've had something it has been tasty. After work is when the best offers are - often 2 for 1 pizzas (they are yummy) but be prepared for a scrum as lots of other people have the same idea
Grinch, is one of very few Jazz based wine bars, well on a saturday at least. I'm no Jazz expert but its the one thing I miss since moving from london to manchester. The Grinch Wine Bar goes some way to make this up, it is a great building to start with, part of the old chambers and its lovely. the atmosphere is vibrant and its really lively most nights. especially during 5-7 as this is happy hour with lots of good deals on. its popular for after works drinks but also with some regulars that come back time and again for the chicken and the saturday jazz ! The outside seating is really nice on a hot summers night.
Tasty food good offers worth goign for the early meal deal
Have been going here for years and its one of my favourate places in Manchester. Ideally for drinks after work, where you can usually guarantee a place to sit and chat despite its central location; ideal for a decent bite to eat and yes the fried chicken is great; ideal for drinks and food with a group. Decor seems to be updated regularly and always spot on. All in all almost perfect and if you havent been, give it a try.
Grinch Wine Bar is a vibrant and lively place, however it maintains an intimate atmosphere in nature. Great for after work drinks, getting together with friends and pre-theatre meals, as well as special dinner for two. Renowned for its fried chicken, they also serve fantastic pizzas and a variety of salads. Happy Hour everyday between 5-7, deals on pizza, wine and cocktails. Outside seating. Live Soul and Jazz on Saturday nights upstairs.
