Reviews for Trof Cafe
Comfortable, good food, good choice of beer. Popular with students but would appeal to anyone who enjoys good food and appreciates value for money! The decor and atmosphere is reminiscent of an Amsterdam cafe.
Love this place! Great food at a reasonable price. Chilled atmosphere... What more to say?
This place is the best place ever to go on a Sunday when you a majorly hungover. Its chiiled out, roomy, high ceilinged rooms help keep your insides in. There are loads of setas and sofas and comfy sitting places and, beleive me, you ll need to sit down while choosing from the extensive yummy menu. You can get breakfasts all day and they are the best thing for a delicate stomach.
The staff are very friendly and helpful obviously enjoy their jobs. The place has a great atmosphere and they play great, but quiet, music so you can have a chat about the night before.
It is definately worth visiting manchester just to go to this place and although i have never been at night, im sure its great fun then too.
Trof in Fallowfield (one of three Trofs in Manchester) is the perfect place to spend a lazy Sunday lunchtime. The interior is an eclectic mix with cute illustrations adorning the walls alongside old electrical switch boxes and vintage church pews to sit on. The food is excellent, offering a twist on the standard Sunday lunch as well as traditional breakfast fayre, a good selection of 'sharers', cakes and paninis.
The bar is well stocked with all of the usual spirits and beers as well as unusual European and American beers. Trof can get very busy with local students on weekday evenings, there are often DJs or bands playing in the upstairs bar. If you are a smoker, Trof also offers an outside roof terrace with seating.
The only small criticism I have is that sometimes the service can be a wee bit slow - the food is always worth the wait though.
This bar works in the day for a coffee or a bite to eat and in the evening when it's a bit louder and livelier. It is pretty studenty (asymmetric haircuts ahoy!) as it's just over the road from Owens Park, but this adds to rather than detracting from the atmosphere. And it does mean they do a good breakfast - mmm. The veggie breakfast is worth a mention because it's good enough for non-vegetarians to order. On the other hand the special Trof sausages are pretty good...
They have a little upstairs covered balcony which is really nice in summer.

trof is a great student place. the food is amazing, especially the trof burger. It inspired me to make my own burgers :-) its a cosy atmosphere but could feel crowded. ive been for dinner and for a night out and enjoyed both very much.
Trof is a great venue in a great location. Fallowfield is THE student area and if you're looking for somewhere with plenty of atmosphere and a laid back vibe, this is where it's at. They regularly have different themed nights although expect to here some good laid back, old skool tunes most nights. They serve some great food here and a wide range of food but don't expect to get it on the cheap as Trof is fairly expensive if you're used to some student haunts. Expect it to get fairly busy as the night shuffles on and don't be surprised if you're sat on a table with other random people as space is usually scarce people sit where they can
Trof in Fallowfield is the perfect place whatever the occasion.
The feel is very much a student, shabby chic, laid back vibe with cool tunes playing and creating an atmosphere that really cannot be rivalled.
The food is (fairly) cheap and cheerful and features scrumptious wraps, succulent burgers and bites to cater for all tastes be they omnivore or herbivore.
Drinks are also very reasonable priced and there is a wide range of beer on offer.
The entertainment at Trof is also great which each night having its own occupier. All genres of music are covered from the 60's right up to modern indie and then an open mic night too!
A really excellent chilled out place where you can go to relax or to prepare for a night out on the town.
This was a great place to go and relax and enjoy some nice food. It is different from those usall cafe's that you would genrally visit every week or so.. It has a large menu with a broad selection of food and drink of high quality.. i loved the food and the drink it was wonderful! Chef was great! The prices were reasonable and the service was good. Trof also has to offer some great nights with music and more. I would recommend this to anyone passing by.. just take a visit and enjoy and relax! It is great and a lovely place with helpful staff/waiters and great management.
Trof Fallowfield is a lovely eating and drinking venue for the people who want something different from the usual student bars and restaurants splatered around the area. Trof provides a great dining experience with a host of menu food and specials to choose from (home-made burger is recommended!) with a good selection of drinks to choose from. Pick up a montly leaflet inside to see what DJ/Band/Entertainment is set for the night and enjoy a releaxed, stress free night. Highly recommended is booking in advanced for a table on the heated terrace!
