A lovely pub with a huge beer garden located just back from the A4. It is popular with business professionals both at lunchtime and after work. The car park is often busy but is large enough to cope with demand.

sometimes it can take a while to get served, especially on a friday lunchtime but the staff are helpful and friendly.

the food is the same excellent standard as all other pubs in this chain. It is more expensive than "local pub grub" but not overpriced for the area. There is a large selection daily and the desserts are delicious. orders are usually processed quickly and served with a smile.

The shire horse - I first visited here at 6 months old but don't remember it!

Nowadays it is a nice pub on the side of the A4. Food is good though not the cheapest but you do get a nice garden to sit in and the interior is OK, decor-wise.

staff are students but serve you very well, and are always polite

Next door is the shire horse and craft centre but haven't visited here yet.

Only slightly more expensive than your average pub meal, The Shire Horse has good food, decent service, and a clean environment. Definitely a better choice than your average Harvester and certainly beats Hungry Horse pubs hands (or hooves) down.
