Reviews for Spice World
I visited Spicy World in Victoria last night for a mild curry. I ordered the Balti Peshary set meal at £9.95 which included the Balti Peshary, rice, two nans and chutneys. I also had two large cokes. Spicy World is a tiny intimate restaurant, not much bigger than my front room. The service is good and staff very friendly. They have a happy hour between 5:30pm-6:30pm giving a 10% discount. The food was tasty and there was plenty of it. When I was presented with the bill I noticed the 10% discount was missing, £3.95 for a pint of coke was also on the high side. I challenged the bill, pointing out the 10% omission and asking why so much for the coke. I was referred to drinks menu which states coke is £1.75 per glass without advising how big the glass is.
I would recommend Spicy World, but check your bill.
I was wondering where to go and eat the food that tastes like the one in my country and knowing nothing, I knocked the Spicy worlds door....since then i never had to think twice to have my food any where else apart from spicy world.
The atmosphere was calm and quiet, small place but decorated with paintings on the wall and soft musics enhanced the appetite.
The open kitchen ensures the health and hygiene and freshness of the food. I found the food freshly cooked with reasonable touch of spices in it but there was something else missing .....nan....was it? yes...it is!!!! when i asked the chief about the missing of the nan bread, it was baked freshly in the tandoori and served and that tasted fabulous. the chief and waiters were very friendly. I recommend spicy world to everybody.

Risked this place this afternoon. Cheap sort of place. For an unknown reason I tried the buffet. Awful, really. Overly fatty mutton in red sauce. Chicken in a sort of yellowish-brown sauce. I guess that might have been a korma. A chick-pea dish and a vegetable one. Also, some sort of yellow slop that might have been dahl put could just have easily been mashed up paper with some tumeric. No bread. Some sort of near-tasteless baked rice dish.
Despite the restaurant's name there was barely any spice to be found in any of the dishes. Best bit: leaving.
Entertainment provided by waiters shouting at the 'chef'.
Still, at 6.95 for an all you can eat buffet, I can't really complain, can I?
I can?
Oh. Good.

they gave me a menu and a drink list, but it took me a long time to chose what to eat, the waiters were very kind, very funny, and they made me feel very, very comfortable.
so i decided what to eat, i couldn't wait till my food arrived, because people around me were eating their foods with glory. so my food came, and i ate it, it was very satisfying, it filled me up and i never thought twice about going to spicy world. it was so very appetizing, I was very happy with what i had, the boss was very kind to me.
The next day i went to 1 gillingham street, spicy world, i didnt know they had two branches, they had a classic chef, who creates his food from his heart. i love spicy world, they are great! 5 STAR!
