Reviews for Hummus Bros
If you've never tried hummus before, you should: it might look a bit weird, but it's delicious.
The hummus here is served in a deep plate, with the topping served in the middle of it. You get two pita breads (white or brown) next to it and chili sauce and garlic/lemon juice to add to it if you want. I think it really depends on which topping you choose. I've tried a couple now and there are some I prefer more than others. I love the Greek Salad topping (feta, tomatoes, cucumbers, red peppers) and the Guacamole. I wasn't that keen on the mushrooms and chicken. Keep an eye out on the specials, cause some of them are really good too (especially the meatballs in tomato sauce).
The drinks are also pretty different and nice. They've got Aloe Vera juice which I think also contains little bits of floating grapes in it. Then there's the Mint tea, prepared with actual mint leaves.
Definitely try it out, cause it's a yummy (and cheap!) place. Tip: check out their website and become a member; sometimes they have offers like vouchers for free drinks.
One of my favorite places for lunch and dinner. Their free wifi deal is great and their upstairs area is great for meetups. Give them a ring if you want to book the upstairs room, they are always looking for people that want to have the best time at their place.
Definitely try the Aloe Vera juice and the brownies. Great stuff and healthy (except for the brownies maybe).
When you think of hummus you naturally think of some pre-dinner snack... as I did the first time I went and ordered a large bowl of chicken covered hummus, extra pitta and some salad.
Warning. It's incredibly filling. Something about the blended chickpeas together with the topping and the bread means you won't need to eat again for many hours.
It's relatively cheap as well (unless you're used to buying 85p pots of the stuff in Sainsbury's), and they have a really excellent mint lemonade drink as well.
Recommended if you're sick of sarnies for lunch, just get the medium bowl and if you're a student you get a free high-five!
This place is just great. Real value for money, and top, filling hangover food - v filling.
The hummus is not of the usual supermarket (Greek?) style, which tastes of lemon and garlic, the hummus dudes let you choose to add garlic if you wish, but the taste is dominated by the fresh chick peas and tahini (sesame - middle-eastern style?). Chunky beef topping is especially good, and look out for the specials.
Look out for the unique malabi desert - a kind of creme caramel, but with coconut and dates - excellent. Coffee also good, and very friendly people here & nice atmos. You can also take away the hummus.
I had read about Hummus Bros before I came to London and was really excited to try it. What could be better than a restaurant completely revolving around hummus?! Well it took awhile but last week I finally made it there and I was far from disappointed! The service was incredible, very friendly and helpful (a rarity in London it seems). Also, the vibe of the restaurant was really great: decoration and music. The hummus was really great. There are so many choices of toppings. I had the day's special, Black Beans and my friend had Guacamole. The hummus was quite peanut-y but I enjoyed it. Their mint and ginger lemonade was delicious too.
As a student, I can say that the prices are very reasonable and it's a great place to grab a quick bite or sit around for a bit and use some free Wi-fi!
