Reviews for Apple Store
Having been to a couple of apple stores I must say that this one is the best, uber cool and chic, well it would be it is full of all things apple and not the granny smith variety either. Had to sort out an ipod for a gift and wanted the red one so did eventually have to go on line to get it but never mind, just loved the apple store and the staff were helpful. Am i a mac user, well, used to have a windows pc but am now firm convert to all things apple. The sleek white design of the desk and lap top computers is so stylish and usable that I will never go back to boring old windows. Looks like I will be making many happy future visits to the wonderful apple store then.
When you walk into the store, you are just taken aback by the sheer size of the space they have. There is plenty of room to move about and plenty of gadget and gizmos areas to keep you entertained. Staff are really friendly and know what they’re talking about. They always endeavour to solve your Apple-related problems. Apple offers free workshops and presentations, and there is a dedicated area upstairs to the back of the building, but I have never attended any. There are plenty of laptops to get free access to the internet and if you love Apple products, then no doubt, you will feel like you’re in heaven.
I love the apple store! It is always a hive of activity, yet there is always someone there to help you whether you need something new or something fixed. They were particularly helpful when my hard drive crashed, replacing it with a bigger and better hard drive within 24 hours. I've never felt the need to go to any of the workshops as yet, but it's nice to know where they are in case I need them. I always buy my macs here, partly for the experience. Never really hung out here and tried out all the stuff, as I normally know what I want before going in, but nice to know you can. I'm a Apple user for life now.
This store is located on Regents Street in London. It's the base camp all things Apple in London. As you approach from outside, you realize the sheer size of of the shop itself. Once inside, you can see everything from iPods to Macs, and even some 3rd party peripherals that are compatible with Apple Devices. On either side of the store are long desks with Demo laptops, desktops and iPods.
Upstairs: Even more Demos! At each side there is a Genius Bar with "Geniuses" that will help with problems you have with your Apple stuff.
At the back there is a seated area where workshops are held on various topics to do with Macs, iPods and Apple Software.
Overall, this is a fantastic shop. If your walking down Regent's Street one day, be sure to take a look inside!
I am a Mac user.
I have an iMac, and an iPod Nano. And an iPod Touch. Although that's just borrowed.
Apple make stuff that looks great, and works out of the box. It's a good thing.
But what happens when it doesn't work out of the box?
That's when you discover just how unfriendly the world of Apple can be.
I had always thought that it was a bit of a myth that Apple has this legion of zealot fans, who are convinced that nothing Apple do can be wrong. And then I tried posting on some forums, about some problems I was experiencing with an iPod Touch. Ouch! A level of sarcasm and blind devotion that I've never experienced before. I won't post the comments here, but suffice to say, the iPod refusing to sync was my fault.
The Apple Store staff were just as bad, I think they have been indoctrinated that Apple=Good Windows=Bad, which may explain why I was treated like an idiot.
Apple products are good, they look stunning, and when they work, using them is a joy. But I have yet to find a genius at the Genius Bar.
It's just a shame that some of the staff can be pretty vacuous too :-(
Ok so it's always busy, and there's an air of American consumerism in the air that wafts between the geeky enthusiasts of the Apple products, but what's not to love. Less a 'store' and more a cool and trendy place to hang out and get your fingers onto the latest beautifully produced quality product from Apple. And they encourage the playing here! better than a trip to the Science Museum and being able to press all those buttons!
Staff are always friendly in that over helpful corporate branded way (ironic as this seems to be the image that Apple prefer to shy away from in comparison to say Microsoft). But if gadgets are your game, or you just want to check the latest review on TP, then access to a 'free' computer and being able to bask in the beauty of all that is Apple you could do much worse than spend an afternoon here... or all day... But they might prefer it if you buy something!
I was a Windows user for years, but converted to Apple earlier in the year. I'm not a full cult member yet so don't hang around the Apple Store for the fun of it like some seem to do, but I do enjoy shopping there.
If you're after an iPod, iPhone or a Mac then this is the place to head. You can probably get some of the peripherals cheaper elsewhere and the place can be heaving at the weekend, but it's a fun place.
The central glass staircase poses a problem for girls in short skirts or men in kilts (McMac users?), but aside from that you can't really fault the design of the place.
A genius bar to fix your problems, free wifi and friendly helpful staff who know what they're talking about. If it wasn't for the weather you could pretend you're in San Francisco.
