Reviews for Harrods
The Food Halls are magnificent and the rest of the huge store is well worth a visit. Lot of tourist of course but don't let that scare you away.
For sheer convenience, Harrods beats everything.
The breadth and depth of their range of goods and services is second to none, but almost all prices reflect this.
The huge staff team that work here make it possible to get a good service from knowledgeable people (on the whole).
The store itself is vast and it can be a bit hard to find a specific department, unless you're just 'window shopping' and wandering through.
Its mantra used to be that it sold EVERYTHING. If it doesn't stock something, the chances are high that they can order it for you.
As long as you are desperate enough and have deep pockets, Harrods can get it for you.
The focal point of the store for me is always the Food Halls - the range of weird and rare foods available seems to have shrunk, but you can still chose from 20 different salamis or more than 150 different cheeses.
What an amazing place. Although the goods are out of my price range, it is still worth going to have a nosey at the weird and wonderful items that have been sourced from all over the world. There are numerous floors and departments offering different luxury products including a great food department. The only bad point being that it is always so busy with people like me, visiting like it’s a tourist attraction. But I suppose they thought of that as they have a department dedicated to Harrods embossed gifts. Good place to window shop. If you do visit, be careful not to buy something you really can’t afford!
The Harrods Department Store, owned by Muhammad Ali Fayed is located right above Knightsbridge Underground Station. It is a mega complex with many floors of fascinating wordly (materialistic and natural wonders) in the form of antient rugs, vines, furnitures, artifacts, electronics, beauty salon/products etc etc. You can easily spend 4 hours inside just roaming feasting your eyes over the items you may not be able to ever afford. Its deadly expensive; be warned. There is also a samrt/casual dress code so you cannot walk in there looking like you're straight off the streets as they will refuse you entry. There are beggars on the perimeter of the building targetting the more wealthy shoppers so avoid these people too as they tend not to take no for an answer. Harrods over all is a brilliant landmark in London - do check it out.
