Went to this place for the first time last month. The head chef at this place is reputedly a master of the 'dum puhkt' style of biryani - cooked in a pot sealed with chapati dough in order to retain the aroma and makes for a great taste. Unfortunately they do not serve these until around 7.30 in the evening as it isnt a meal that can be conjoured up in a few minutes. I had the salumunder rambutan - a fish stew containing prawn, scallop and big chunks of fish. I was quite simply blown away by the taste which was so well spiced that I can't wait for the next visit. The bread selection and the rice was also first class. Yes it's fairly expensive, but is wasn't voted the top indian restaurant in London for nothing. We paid around £45 per head, but if you are price conscious, they do reasonably priced lunch and pre theatere menus.
Definately worth a visit.
Not your bog standard indian - the food is classy, full of flavour, and new ideas on the plate. Loved it, Would definately go back!
This place is nice - a very up-class restaurant with good service and good food, but it's really the service you're paying for. The food is good, though I found it to be rather uninspiring. Steer clear of the things in sauces - though nice, they are simply not worth the money.
The restaurant itself is very nice with some good, not-a-curry-house decor, but was overly warm to the point of being uncomfortable.
I wouldn't go again, soley for the reason of expense.

The atmosphere is very nice, the decoration is clean and sober, although it will not win any awards.
The food is why you should go. It is inventive and absolutely delicious. Although clearly influenced by your typical curry place, the food is very different. Every dish is inventive and delicious. Overall a nice renewal of british-indian cuisine.
Price wise, we paid about £45 pounds per person. A reasonable price for the quality, but I am sure that there are better deals out there.
I would go back.
