Reviews for Soho Spice - CLOSED
The good: as an excellent Indian restaurant, Soho Spice has serves deliciously spiced courses, with fantastic breads of great variety. The table service is good and their Asian and Arabic music provides a great ambience.
Late on there is a bar with live entertainment to make it a late night after a great meal.
Its medium sized that allows you to have a more private feel if you have a group. I was most impressed for a birthday meal arranged here, providing you with a menu electronically to pre select your meal if your guests should so choose, to speed up the serving and ensure they have everything you'll request.
The bad: slightly overpriced compared few Indian restaurants around East London of similar quality.
I do like Soho Spice but the one thing that lets them down is the level of service.
Now, the food is good but nothing amazing. It can feel a bit too bright and clinical on the 1st floor, the coldness of the staff doesn't help this at all and they can make you feel a bit rushed at times - no one like sthat when they are eating do they?
Downstairs is a fun way to end the night, a basement bar room that has a DJ and side tables and plenty of room to hae dance and burn off the curry calories!
They even have club events down there seperate to the restaurant but if you are eating you can get in for free anyway.
Great location, nicely set out inside, not overly expensive - my only tip to them here is SMILE! It wont hurt, honest!
Vibrant and stylish surroundings combined with mouth watering delicacies, Soho Spice provides an ideal location for parties, drinks, lunch or dinners with friends or colleagues. In addition to the main dining room, the restaurant also offers the Spice Lounge, a late night bar and dancefloor, offering the sophistication of a cocktail bar and the lively feel of a club.
A ´new look´ Soho Spice was recently unveiled, offering all day drinking, dining and entertainment in stylish surroundings, right in the heart of the West End. The venue is ideal for lunch or dinner, a quick snack, drinks with friends or colleagues or large parties.
The ground floor restaurant specialises in Indian kebabs and dishes from across the Tiger Belt countries, and diners can even watch the chefs in action in the show kitchen. The menu, which offers a daily changing kebab section as well as favourites such as spicy chicken curry, is served daily until late in a lively atmosphere.
The Spice Lounge is a late night bar and dancefloor, offering the sophistication of a cocktail bar and the lively feel of a club. With both a drinks and bar food menu available, and speciality cocktails priced at just £3 during happy hour (5pm-7pm Monday to Friday), the Spice Lounge is an ideal place to meet after work. Booths can be reserved for groups, and private parties are welcome.
Soho Spice and the Spice Lounge have been opened by the team behind the successful Mela and Chowki restaurants in the West End – both previous winners at the annual London Restaurant Awards.
