Reviews for Chez Marcelle

I went to Chez Marcelle on the strength of reviews here; although the people that I was meeting let me down, Marcelle was lovely as was (I think) her daughter who was helping out. Real Arabic home cooking, which is just delicious as well, and very reasonably priced. It gets packed at weekends- with good reason! The only problem was that it was a bit hard to find: it's at the Olympia end of Blythe Road. Lovely place, run by a very sweet lady.

I went there a while ago and really enjoyed it. I must get around to going back.

after seeing good reviews for this place we booked and ventured out on a saturday night. the waitress serving us could just as well have been at dominos pizza, not only did she have no interest - she had no idea what the specials were or what their key dishes had as ingredients.

when we were finally served we found the food bland and quite taste less. dinner was very affordable but we will no be visiting again.

Friendly, good food, value for money, nice small place. Go there!

I know my Lebanese food and this place offers the best there is.

Marcelle is a lovely lady, preparing the dishes herself, with just one person to help out. As she said: "she will not serve anything unless it had her approval".
As others have commented, this is more of a "home cooked" food with Marcelle being so friendly and chatty, that you will feel like having lunch with your grandmother.

The restaurant is small, so booking in advance is recommended, especially during exhibitions at Olympia Centre, as it does get busy.

Last time I went there she was accepting cash only, so please ask before you find yourself running around Olympia looking for a cash point...

Sahtein!

If I want to make a whole thing about going to a Lebanese, I will go to Noura, however, I live 5 minutes' walk from Chez Marcelle and find it a very convenient, pleasant, friendly, homely and delicious place to give in to my Lebanese food cravings.

The style of food is closer to "home cooking" than "pretentious restaurant" which makes it more affordable and tasty than expensive and fancy (Like Fahkreldine). For a quick Bite I would definitely recommend it over somewhere like Maroush which is nothing more than a kebab house, glorified by its prime location and hence its clientelle.

Realy nice place owned by a lovely lady. She does everything with only 1 help. Good food and realy nice atmosphere. You should book first because it is small and very good
