Reviews for Proud Cabaret
It’s the era of technology, scientific progress and the youngest ever Doctor Who. And as the world races headlong into the future, who doesn’t have moments where, overwhelmed, they step back and have a nostalgic aching for the ‘old days’ and some ‘good old fashioned fun’?
Proud’s newest venture is time travel, but in its most wonderful, exotic, luxurious sense. From the moment you step into the slick restaurant bar, away from the soulless office blocks of the city you are transported back into the 1920’s world of glitz, burlesque and underground jazz. The food is served by waitresses and waiters who fit flawlessly into the retro mood as they cheerfully serve course after course of unforgettable dishes. Each course was as delicious and well-prepared as the next, though my personal favourite was the creamy and succulent lobster Thermidor.
The burlesque dancers employed were of national standard, so it was little surprise that they performed with the sort of adroit skill that would leave the rest of us gaping.
But while it was flawless, suave and immaculately professional, there was not an ounce of pretention. Every visitor to Proud Cabaret, even if they have not experienced the real 1920’s will feel a nostalgic longing for the decade. Those that have, will agree that this is better than the real thing. And everybody will leave wanting to return.

Great for something a bit different. Guaranteed to lift your mood, and not just because of the wine!
Great food in the city - original rather, than the buch of chains aroun my office. Mid-range pricewise, but delicious grub in return. recommended.
Had a fantastic night.. food was ace and at the risk of sounding like a right twit, the ambience was amazing.. all low lighting and candles
Show was great, my girlfriend was worried they were going to get naked but (sadly) they didn't
Will be returning
perfect for a night out or quick drink at the bar. different from anything else in the City. great food and fun shows!
As I work very near to Mark Lane, I have become a frequent visitor to Proud Cabaret since it opened a few weeks ago.
I have had lunch on several occasions and thoroughly enjoyed myself - the service is impeccable. Dinner is just as delicious and the cocktails always slip down well.
My friends and I have then danced well into the night - great place to party!
Great new place- good food, hot dancers, great vibe. If you want entertainment in the city then this certainly delivers! Definitely be back
