Reviews for Royal Court Bar & Food
The bar in the basement of the Royal Court theater in Sloane Square is possibly one of the most interesting places around there to rendezvous. It is big, lots of tables, lots of staff and a reasonable collection of drinks on offer. It is somehow intrinsically glamourous even if you are the only star in the bar - though often as not there are lots. My best sighting to date is Yoko Ono.
Not really a destination for food, though it has improved vastly of late, it is a good place for a quiet drink if you happen to tire of shopping.
Pre theatre it is mega busy - but that's no surprise.
Food and drink at the Royal Court is obviously going to be overpriced given that it is a theatre in Sloane Square, but bearing that in mind, the food is very good, but there's not much variety to the menu and not much for vegetarians. I had probably the best luxury burger I've ever had there. There atmosphere is good, if a little pretentious, and there's always the possibility of spotting a celebrity there.
The bar is nice with friendly staff and well stocked for a theatre bar with a nice and differing selection of small snacks at the bar from berry cupcakes to fresh flapjacks!
