Reviews for The Wet Fish Cafe
west hampstead is a strange area with masses of places to eat and drink and all busy, or so they seem. the wet fish is one of the better places. strange menu and unattractive decor does not help it much at all.
on the whole a good place for tea and coffee.
This cafe' is a bit misleading as it also serves alcohol but no fish.
The name relates to a previous incarnation of the premises
which is now exclusively limited, I suspect, only to the perfectly sterile ceramic tiles. The tiles add an almost translucent quality to the light which is in turn reflected in the marvelously louche atmosphere.
I have been here several times and they simply serve the best cup of coffee in London, at least I am yet to taste better.
There is an interesting vibe in this cafe.
It used to be a fish shop and you can still see some signs which were left intentionally. The coffee was good and the food as well. I was very disappointed from the egg Benedict which I recommend you avoid. On another occasion I had a really nice pecan cake so you are quite safe there when ordering desserts...
The service was quite slow on a busy day and the waiter admitted that she forgot about us...
The Wet Fish Café offers good quality modern cuisine food. The service is slow and they do not have much variety in the menu but what you eat is really delicious and just different. They also serve breakfasts and coffees. The decoration gives the place a special different touch too.
