Reviews for Bamboula Jerk Kitchen
Good quality service on it's own goes a long way towards making a nice dining experience. However, when that is combined with good food then I get the urge to write about it. So here goes.
Bamboula has an authentic familiar feel to it. It's the kind of place where you walk in and the decour, the ambience and the people just makes you relax a little bit more. You walk in and the place just tells you to chill out a little bit. There is good background music and the sound of something sizzling (in a laid back sort of way) in the kitchen.
We were served pretty mch immediately by a nice waitress. But then after taking our orders the manager, lawrence took over. He happens to be one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet and the experience was richer for him being there.
The food itself was very good. I had the top gully plantain ring followed by Callaloo Rice and the curried lamb (check out the menu here http://www.bamboulas.net/menu.php?m=dinner ).
The food was served very quickly, the helpings were very generous and more importantly it was all very tasy. They seem to have mastered how to get a spicy dish tingling your tongue rather than blowing your head away.
This is the kind of place where you can go back to again and again and again and you know you’ll always get a good meal whether it is taking away or eating at the restaurant itself.
