Reviews for Auberge

Was feeling very hungry on this Sunday and was looking forward to tucking my teeth into something meaty. Saw Auberge which having a French name and a menu that attempts at being partly French I thought I'd give this place a go. The Auberge burger sound appetizing coming with bacon, and cheese all on a ciabata bun with fries. Now I like places that try using ciabata as buns for their hamburgers so I was really looking forward to trying it out.
When the burger arrived, see pic, my first impression was that the ciabata looked a bit soggy and when I opened the burger I was disappointed by the size of the burger. As for the taste it was acceptable but I was already quite disappointed.
Service was fine but whilst the venue was nice and clean the air conditioning was virtually on max which I couldn't understand why as we're still in January.
Anyway if you're looking for a French restaurant that does proper French food I wouldn't recommend l'Auberge... I mean real French restaurants don't serve burgers or caesar salads for example.

There is a Belgian Auberge in Guildford, where I live. The good thing about their Guildford branch is that the staff as well as their chef are actually Belgian. A bit overpriced, but food quality is is up to my standards!!! :p ;o)

Interesting I'd have to check it out to see if it's different. It's a pity because Belgian food can be really nice and I was hoping that the Auberge at St. Christophers Place would live up to it.
