151 Knightsbridge, London, SW1X 7PA

Mr Chow has sister restaurants in both New York and Beverly Hills and was set up here in the 60s. The food comes highly recommended, service is professional and the decor better than your usual Chinese restaurant. They can also cater for vegetarians and vegans and accept private parties of up to 75 people.

Reviews for Mr Chow

avoid at all costs!

i was utterly abused and humiliated when i took my parents and sister to Mr chow in London. After fine experiences in LA and NY, i decided to try the London address a couple of weeks ago.

I never opened the menu. when the maitre d' came, i ordered crispy duck for four. The maitre d', Marcelo, said he would arrange some openers and bring my duck after that. instead, he forced 8 plates upon us, refused to take back the extra prawns and steak which i never ordered but he served nonetheless and gave me a doggy bag with my crispy duck (which i never touched, obviously).

terrible experience!

Mr Chows is an institution. Perhaps all you need to know is that it started in the late 60's and has sister restaurants in New York (2), Beverly Hills and Miami...

Now, I am not in the habit of hunting out the trendiest places but I did eat here and feel duty bound to do a review.

Eating out in Mr Chow's (remember to book) is a fun and uplifting experience. Service is fantastic, the atmosphere fun/ eccentric and the restaurant is small, cosy and packed, which all hightens and invigorates the experience.

The food is undeniably very tasty and high quality. The dishes are mostly popular (I don't think the clientelle are looking for highly innovative Chinese cuisine) and excellently executed.

Expensive, yes, after all this is a Knightsbridge institution and it has to pay the rent and for all the highly attentive staff. A fun place to try for a treat.
