Reviews for The Japanese Canteen

Until Samurai opened on Baker Street The Japanese Canteen was the only place in the area to get a carton of noodles like they do in films shot in New York.

I've tried their pork, salmon and chicken teryaki and katsu and now default to their teryaki chicken with noodles for 4.95. Really tasty with a good hit of soy and spring onions. But the quality of chicken is a bit questionable.

I've heard their sushi isn't great but then again it's hard to produce fantastic sushi at this price.

To get more stars they need to nail a few more dishes and bring a bit more style to the table. At the moment this store is a bit tired and disheveled and is being shown up by the more professional Samurai.
