Reviews for Ed's Easy Diner
To the guy who feels this is their favourite restaurant, I think that he really should get out more.
London is full of amazing resturants, and yes Ed's is good but not fantastic.
The food is very good for what it is - it's American diner food - and it's well done - freshly cooked with proper condiments (French's mustard, HP, Heinz tomato sauce etc which should not be overlooked). The burgers are very fresh looking and tasting, and the chips are chunky as they should (always) be.
The atmosphere is lovely, busy with good service and staff, and cool music.
The only down side is that the food is costly for what it is. You can go to the McD or BG place instead, but the atmos. and freshness of the food wouldn't be as good.
Overall, a nice experience.
Edd's Easy Diner is probably my favourite restaurant in London.
Edd's provides a real "American Diner" experience with friendly serving staff, a delicious menu, prompt service and very taty food.
The cheesy chips are my favourte, I really want to get my hands on their cheese sauce recipe, and the hot dog combo meal is good value and very tasty too.
Edd's diners are franchised, however they all provide very high levels of food quality and service.
The milk shakes are to die for and must not be missed.
Go to Edd's diner for a fantastic meal with friendly service.
This is a quality American fast food joint.
This place can get very busy and it can be hard to get a seat as the restaurant is not all that big. The quality of the food is good but there aren't that many healthy options on the menu.
I found the staff to be efficient and helpful but the food prices may be a little high.
The decor is based on that of a 1950s American burger joint.
The location is very central and therefore near several tube stations, and there are plenty of bar, clubs, cinemas and theatres nearby.
The place is good for a quick bite and chillout.
Ed's is a tad pricey in my opinion, but it does fantastically sloppy, calorie-laden comfort food. Chips and gravy...says it all, really! And their banana and peanut butter milkshakes are to die for.
The diner surroundings possess the appropriate 50's feel, but some of them are quite small and get crowded very quickly. I frequent the Soho branch and I find the surroundings have become quite worn, so I wouldn't recommend this as a destination if you're looking to capture that 50's nostalgia for a night out. Fortunately, Ed's can deliver food to addresses in the local area (on roller skates *hee*). Perfect for a Friday afternoon lunch in the office.
Do yourself a favour, skip this place and go to Burger King - they are cheaper and you'll get more for your money than at this place...And i never thought I'd advocate going to BK!!
Eds is like a 50's eatery with loud 50's music (riding along in my automobile) and i guess the food came from that era too; dry burgers, stingy amounts of chips, small milkshakes, although they are nice but not cold enough, and the cutlery and dinnerware that they serve the food on looks dirty, infact the whole place looks like its not been cleaned properly, and its overpriced too. This diner is cold and the staff are just unfriendly. If you initiate any conversation with them or try to get their attention there pretty oblivious. However they do seem to love chatting with each other, which was irritating considering it delayed our food arriving...funny how the bill arrived so quickly.....
All i can say is the rolo ice cream sundae !
heaven
If you like your Yanks all stars, banners and stripes with a large portion of fries on the side then Ed's is the place for you! Here the pictures on the menu actually match the lush food that is served to your booth.
Oh those crazy happy Grease-esque, 1950s times have me all Happy Days and wanting to twist and shout whenever I come here.
SO if you're feeling down and ungroovey as London's grey skies and 6months worth of winter takes hold; Ed's is a cure-all! A place where it is impossible to feel unhappy and not grin cheesily ear to ear. Just don't burst into song as a certain b-list 'celeb' did last time i was at Ed's.
Oh but the food: Enourmous portions, fresh, fresh, fresh and served quickly. And best of all; not a (un)Happy Meal in sight!
Authentic American burger bar. Just as I remembered it, but now we have those 'gourmet' burger chains, the burgers aren't quite the best in town. Still has great atmosphere, music service and shakes. And good fries. Great for a greasy treat and good for kids too.
Top notch service, playful and authentic diner atmosphere, a good veggie burger, cheese fries are awesome, and the peanut butter milkshakes are to die for. I'm an American expat and this place rocks.
I've had plenty of milkshakes in my life but Ed's Easy Diner has got to be one of the best. I had the peanut butter malt shake, which is a meal on its own. Ed's also have alcoholic shakes (bailey's, rum) with variety of flavours. Served to you table with a glass and the chilled stainless steel shaker.
This retro 50's American style diner is adorable. You almost feel trapped in time. Mini jukebox on every table. Black and White checkered motif, red stools all around. Funny slogans around the diner "No dancing in the aisles".
There were plenty of sandwiches and burger options, also veggie friendly. But my friend and i went straight to the shakes and their famous Astro Fries. I also ordered an Astro Onion Rings, which comes with little containers of dipping condiments: salsa, chilli (BBQ sauce with the veggie option), cheese, guacamole, sour cream. The onion rings were freshly breaded and fried, the traditional way. They also offer "Wet Fries" which is fries with gravy, and Chilli Cheese Fries.
Ed's Easy Diner also offers other main dishes but we were too occupied with the shakes and fries we didn't have room for anything else.
Mmmm.. malt shake!
