This great little place is a bit hidden on the back streets of Putney. That said, walking by virtually any evening and the place is busy for a reason!

Solid menu, great service, relaxed environment with prices that are a good value for what you get.

The decor is a bit anonymous, but it never really bothered me.

Great food every time I've been there... absolutely recommended!

Emile's has been here for years, but by his enthusiasm and bonhomie is undimmed.

The eating rooms are a bit jumbled, and downstairs is a bit basic, but not cramped - although you will meet waiting staff on the stairs.

The food is always fresh - no menus, just blackboards - and inventive, with healthy sized portions and reasonably priced. The recipe works and they've never really felt the need to tinker too much with it - and long may they keep their fingers off it.

It's a little off the beaten track - you need to know it's there, you almost certainly wouldn't ordinarily be walking passed it - but definitely worth the trip.
