Reviews for Amoul
A year ago my neighbour told me about Amoul's and since my first visit I've been hooked to this place, emotionally and spiritually. I just love everything about this restaurant and deli. The food is really cooked with love. I visit at least four times a week and most days it can get really busy, however a seat always comes up within a few minutes. My favourite day is on Sunday for Amoul's cooked breakfast. Get there round 10am to bag a seat. It's an absolute gem of a place. Highly recommended.
The number of cafes in Maida Vale is rapidly rising, a good thing too since if we only had places like Amoul no-one could go out. The food ok - sometimes wonderful, but it can be under seasoned and the cakes have been known to be stale. But the service can often be abrupt, to the point of rudeness and quite frankly, for an establishment that aspires to be an extension of home, we can do without the quarrels and arguments.
The coffee is great.
I tried Habib chicken and it was very tasty.
My friend had a very good wrap with humus.
I wasn't so impressed with the leek lasagna.
It is pricey but hey, that's Maida Vale...
All the food is home made. You can get a daily email with what is cooking at Amoul... Sometimes they are understaffed but they are definitely a local hero as it says on the door...

Family run, very intimate. Social capital alive and well in London.
I discovered Amoul today thanks to my friend Lisa. I really like this place, for both the quality of its food, the staff, and the general ambience. When I considered buying a flat or even just renting one of the key criteria I had was to be living next to a small family owned coffee shop / delicatessen that offers great food where I could drop down during the week or on a lazy Sunday to sip a coffee and just my paper. Amoul is that kind of place, and if I was to move to the Maida Vale / Warwick Avenue area I would definitely become a regular at Amoul. If you go to www.amoul.com and click on the "about us" section you would feel this natural attraction to visit the place as this family owned place simply is full of authenticity, character, flavour, great tasty food, and very friendly staff. The pricing is not cheap but reasonable. I strongly recommend that you try it out if you're in the area.
Amoul is a very cozy deli and Cafe' in Formosa st, 2 minutes from Warwick Avenue Tube Station and Little Venice. They serve very good homemade food (for take away as well), they have good coffee, and you can just sit at the big tables, enjoy your food and relax. Perfect place to go if you want to chill out and read the papers or a book, while having some good and healthy food. They do close at 4 pm on Saturdays but I think they ae open for dinner.
