Always busy, this Chinese restaurant chain serves a variety of authentic dishes and offers a takea way facility. Part of the Royal China group, Satsuma serves refreshing Japanese food with a similar concept to many other new 'sushi' bars where everyone sits on benches. They also offer a take away and delivery service.

Reviews for Satsuma

Food are over priced and very small.
Not authentic.
A sashimi set dinner will have about 4 pieces of sashimi for the same price you can have 10 plate at yo sushi.
Service is quite poor. Staff are not always available when you want their attention.

Satsuma is beautiful restaurant with Japanese and Chinese dishes. The seating arrangements are very much in the Wagamama style but the atmosphere is a lot more sophisticated while still being relaxed.

The food is delicious, I had the sirloin special which was so succulent - Highly Recommended.

Prices weren't too bad - about £8 average for a main course.

It's definately a great place to have an informal dinner date because it's so noisy with people chatting that there will be no lulls in conversations - no awkward silences!

The staff were very freindly and really efficient. We didn't have to wait very long to order and the food arrived in hardly any time at all.

It's also well located for some great bars for after dinner drinks. Will definitely be going back again.

If you're into your Asian fusion foods then Satsuma is the place for you. Like wagamama, Satsuma is based on communal dinning and open atmosphere, but unlike wagamama, Satsuma is a unique restaurant as only one exists (thank god its in London). Satsuma serves the most amazing rice and noodle dishes, the most succulent sushi and sashimi, and excellent beers, sakki, teas and fruit juices. If your stuck for what to eat, then may I suggest the bento box (and little mix of everything). If your feeling hungry, then may I suggested the chicken katsu curry (a large bowl of stewed vegetable curry, breaded chicken and pickles along with a miso soup and salad). I always leave pleasantly full, but wanting more, hence the regular visits. Pricewise Satsuma is reasonably priced and not too expensive.

It works. The interiors are Wagamama like. It is not about the atmoshpere. The Royal China connection makes sure the food here is high standard. The Sushi were great! You can get some mains for £6-£7 so it is fair deal. Have some extra time , it is not quick service.
