Reviews for Gili Gulu - CLOSED

Gili Gulu was the first conveyor belt restaurant that I ever went to, and set the bar very high for other chain sushi restaurants I have subsequently visited. The atmosphere is relaxed, but also exciting and stylish, with flatscreen TVs generally showing MTV or some other music channel. The important thing about Gili Gulu is that it is obvious the conveyor belt is merely an efficient way to transport the delicious food, as opposed to just being a gimmick. In addition to this the place is affordable and the service really fast (even when the staff deliver your food that isn't available from the conveyor belt...) They do have a bit of a strong policy on groups though, not that this is a problem, often if one of you is ordering a set number of plates and the others aren't, they will make you sit on opposite sides of the belt, so noone swaps plates!!

It's changed a little over the years (used to be completely unlimited eats over 70 mins!) but the basics are still there - sushi comes round on a conveyor and you fill up for a set price.

These days you get 20 plates and 70 mins to finish it off. Last time I went, I managed to go through about 12 plates before feeling absolutely full.

Great selection of food and as new chefs come on, they start putting new dishes on the belt, to keep things fresh.

Good food, set price and a lively atmosphere keep me coming back time and again.

I absolutely love Gili Gulu. I find the atmosphere really laid back, it's the perfect place to pop in with a friend to have a catch up, some green tea and to sample the delicious sushi on offer. At times the selection can be quite basic, but if you're prepared to wait a bit, more will promptly be put out.

Gilu Gulu have an all you can eat package (which isn't actually all you can eat, as you're restricted to 20 plates - although I challenge anyone to eat more than that!), which is pretty reasonable.

This is one of my favourite places to eat in Central London.

Absolutely brilliant restaurant. Conveyor belt with a wide option of sushi, a menu of noodle and other japanese dishes.
Various different payment options, one to suit everyone.
