Was a wonderful restaurant, so many happy memories of the place. Feel like I have lost a very good friend. Had not been for 6 months due to birth of our daughter. We were planning to go this week for our first meal out since the birth only to find it shut and being wrecked by builders.
Even worse news it is now being converted to a chicken Cottage, not too late to stop the licence please go to the council website and under planning search for 270 Uxbridge road
and oppose the licence to try and stop the onward march of rubbish Chicken joints down the Uxbridge road

When I lived in The Bush Gioia Mia was a regular haunt, a perfect neighbourhood local. Cosy and warm, romantic and busy, a great place and I've had many lovely evenings here.

Gioia Mia is located on the unsuspecting Uxbridge Road set amongst the bustling Middle Eastern and Carribean restaurants. They have a great 3 course menu for £9.50, of which there is quite a large selection.

The food is what hearty Italian is all about - large portions with uncomplicated flavours. I enjoy the Spaghetti con frutti de mare which has a great tomato base and is not stingy on the 'frutti de mare'. It really shows you how cheap and tasty Italian food can be.

In terms of atmosphere it's unpretentious and intimate, great for small to medium parties. Of the half dozen times I've been there over the last year, the (same) staff have always been very attentive.

This is a great little local restaurant. The food is tasty,fresh and the portion sizes are big. It offers 3 courses for £10 and this is great value for money, the staff are friendly adn enthusiastic. I would certainly go back but now I have found this site it may be some time before I can, after finding all these other great places.
