    Excellent food at excellent prices..

After being introduced to the Hare & Tortoise about 6 months ago I must have been back there at least a dozen times and not once has it disappointed me.

I always start with the edamame and then move on to miso soup and sushi. The sushi is always delicious (I would recommend the eel, the tuna and the tofu).

The main courses are big enough to share and when washed down with the green tea (which you pay about £1 for an have unlimited refills!) I leave there with a fully contented belly!

When the bill comes you will not be in for any nasty shocks either, it is so very reasonably priced for the quality you are getting.

Do yourself a favour and get down there. It's usually busy but they have a habit of finding a spare table for you every time!

Great for noodles, sushi... a good 'all rounder'

For dinner or lunch, with a group of friends even with kids!!!

You can see them cook your food: noodles and rice dishes, makis, sashimis ... everything is freshly prepared and brought to the table by 'nice enough' staff.

With portions that would even fill your average guy's stomach, Hare and Tortoise is always a good bet if you're in the Ealing Broadway area.

    it was really good

i haven't been in quite some time but whenever i think about it i always remember friendly staff, huuge portions, great prices, great-tasting comforting food and a generally pleasant atmosphere even when the last time you went is with two members of family who hated each other at the time. so that's got to say something for the restaurant.
so all in all really a good experience.

best noodle bar in ealing (if not London)

Firstly I have to say I am a little bias - I've been coming here for more than 5 years. The staff always treat us fantastically - even when they are super busy, which they almost always are.
The food here is stunning favourites include spiced wingsticks, edamame and some of the most delicious gyoza you'll find this side of Harajuku. The portions are generous and atmosphere pleasantly buzzy. They offer a variety of Japanese beers (try the Kirin Ichiban) and the freshly made apple juice is a good call for the designated driver.

    Great Value Noodles

The Hare and Tortoise is a Noodle/Japanese restaurant located close to Ealing Broadway Tube station. It is part of a small chain, but this is the only branch I have been to so far. I am never disappointed by a visit here. The food is always good quality, service fast and servings are huge. Oh, and it is great value for money.

We used to pop in here at least once every month when we lived in the area and wanted a quick and easy meal. They also do takeaway.

Tasty starters include the Prawn Gyoza or perhaps you would prefer some sushi or sashimi. For main course I normally have the Roast Duck with rice or noodles. They also serve a mean Chicken Katsu curry, and their Chow Mein dishes are good too. As I said, the serves are huge, so don't be afraid to ask for a doggy bag.

Food from the end of the world. This place mixes Chinese and Japanese plus some others. Very reasonable prices, too.
