Good dim sum is available in the heart of Chinatown, and the Jade Gardens' A La Carte menu is extensive. Decor is authentic Chinese as is the service. Catering for private parties of up to 60 guests is available upon request.
I've had dim sum here again today and this is the best dim sum in London. China Garden in Canary Wharf is also good but the food at Jade Garden is better. The turnip cake is excellent, I haven’t had better outside of Hong Kong. If you are not familiar with a dim sum menu, just check what’s on the other tables and the menu has pictures so it’s pretty easy.
The service is quick but not especially friendly, with the exception of the head waiter who is excellent. This place is really about the food though.
My favorites include the char siu puffs, yam croquets, chicken and mushroom rice and beef meatballs. Lunch for two including tea came to under £25 including a tip, and we rolled out stuffed.
Even though there are plenty of other restaurants in China Town, you can expect a queue here for a table at lunchtime, especially on Sundays but it’s worth the wait.
