French Food & Amazing Wine in Chiswick

La Trompette is a fantastic French restaurant located just off the high street in leafy Chiswick. It is known throughout London as having one of the best wine lists in around, and is a particular favourite of the locals and the not so locals.

Lunch or dinner at La Trompette is always a fabulous experience. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated, the service is friendly and efficient and the food is delicious. I have always found it to be good value as well, particularly the 3 course lunch specials.

I have dined there a few times and my favourite dishes have included - Scallop and red mullet tortelloni with mussels, fennel fondue and shellfish veloute; Cote de boeuf with chips, watercress and bearnaise sauce for two; and Roast fillet of Lamb. Desserts are never a disappointment, and I can vouch for the Sticky Toffee Pudding with pecan praline ice cream; the Valrhona chocolate fondant with milk ice cream; and a massive Bomb Alaska, which was way too big for two of us to share!

We're going here for our anniversary... really excited about it. Any suggestions for us beyond what you wrote in your review?

You lucky people! After yesterday's Michelin announcement I hope you have booked already ; ) Not much else to suggest, though I remember being very impressed with the sommelier and his suggestions. Look forward to your review!

Certainly have. Booked the day before hand! Lucky us. It's on Friday so we're getting quite excited.

Will test out the Somellier with the wine list.
