    Burgers and Chaos!

I used to work around the Ladbroke Grove; so I used to frequent Babes n Burgers occasionally. I love their chips and think their burgers are fabulous. Some people may disagree, but it's a matter of taste I guess. Personally I think they make some of the best burgers around.

The only downside is that it tends to be quite chaotic in here, so you may have to wait quite a while to be seated/get your order!

Tariq from Eastenders is one of the backers. So if you're a minor celebrity spotter, you might glimpse him around at some point.

Ok, nothing fabulous. The burgers are okay, the prices are okay, the fries (or chips!) are okay.

The space is decent but the last time I went, the bathroom was filthy and needed a good clean. It might have been an off day, but I wasn't impressed.

If you're looking for a good burger - in a romantic atmosphere, nonetheless, head to Haché in Camden.

Lunchtime queues for this ultra-trendy burger bar at the Grove end of Portobello Road, spill out onto the street on a daily basis.

Babes has enjoyed plenty of press coverage as a new concept in dining targeted squarely at the Notting Hillbilly baby boomers.

The narrow dining space backs onto a crche equipped with ball pens and all manner of bright toys.

The bar is presided over by a cheery baby boomer named Sam whose cherubic son is the main customer of the play area - other diners can let their kids run wild in there and each of the larger tables is equipped with a nifty TV monitor so you can admire your childs play skills while enjoying a hearty meal.

Extremely affordable prices, great food, a commitment to using organic ingredients, where possible and a truly unique and practical dining concept, gives Babes the popularity it deserves.
