    Great for a night out...

Wine factory is part of the Brinkley's wine merchants and as a result offer good quality and well priced wine. It's excellent value for money as usually it's the wine that really bumps up the bill.

Went last weekend and really enjoyed the meal. I personally went in to see them as my original reservation was for 7 but my party were struck down by some flu-bug spreading itself across London. So it was just me and my good friend who strolled down Westbourne Grove on that breezy and rainy Saturday evening.

They were very accommodating and as I was with a friend over from Hong Kong we literally chatting until they were putting the chairs on the table - a big hint...but they were charming and even offered us a free limoncello.....

It's a lovely restaurant with excellent service and I highly recommend it.

This is the first time we have been to the Wine Factory and our last. We were impressed with the decor (looks a tad 90's from the outside but a better feel inside) and the staff were friendly but value for money it is not. 4 of us for lunch, no wine, only water and only one course each, the bill was £80. The food was bland and unimpressive and I assume people come for the wine not the food? Unfortunately for us it was a business lunch so sampling the wine was not an option. I much prefer Negozio Classica across the road, sorry Wine Factory.

    Just plain good....

This was my first encounter of Westbourne Grove and I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable pricing. I met 6 friends there on a Monday night and we had the whole bottom floor to ourselves. The waitresses were sweet and the modern Italian food, fresh and tasty. Most notable was the extensive and reasonable wine list.

From Sue's review I went with the beef burger, not the best I've had but I think that was just my craving for cheese talking (a bit of picos blue on it and I would have been in heaven). It was plain and simple with a big fresh pattie that was pink in the middle, just how I like it. The fries were crispy and the rocket fresh.. simple and effective. Perfectly matched with glass of dry citrus pinot gris to cut through the slight greasy after taste..

The rest of the table went for lighter mains and everyone enjoyed they're choices. Being a huge lentil fan but on a burger mission, I was super jealous of my dates king scallops served with lentils and salad. However he saved me a scallop, (also rare in the middle.. nice) and half of the lentils... This boy knows how to treat lady! They were the green numbers cooked with coriander, to a perfect al-dente.

11.50 for the burger plus 4.90 for the wine then a reasonable 10% service charge. I definitely recommend this place for groups and casual diners to visit.

One evening a group of girls met up for dinner. The venue was the Wine Factory, in Notting Hill. This is a friendly, cosy feeling restaurant located on trendy Westbourne Grove. The menu leans towards Italian, with some pasta, pizza and other meat dishes. There is a decent wine list with plenty of reasonably priced options. We were given the best table in the house and quickly relaxed into a great evening of gossip and travel talk.

We decided against starters...wanting to save room for dessert of course! For main meal I had a perfectly cooked steak with chips & barnaise sauce. The other ladies had the King Prawn Linguini with basil, tomato, chilli, pine nuts and parmesan and the Wine Factory fillet burger with chips, rocket and crispy onions.

Desserts were the Hot Toffee Cake, the Hot Chocolate Brownie with vanilla ice cream and the Vanilla ice cream with hot chocolate sauce. But the highlight of the night was a particularly tasty bottle of Marques de Riscal Rioja Reserva 2001.
