best place to eat in london..every ones say so....ad it is the best..

Brilliant Turkish restaurant serving grills, Turkish pizzas and more. All grills are served with a huge plate of salad and tasty Turkish bread. I highly recommend the cop şiş and the adana kofte. The lahmacun is also really taste and great value. The place is permanently busy so do book ahead. They also do a takeaway service but to be honest the eat-in experience is better (I think they put more sauces on the salads or something). Only ever had beer there so I’m not sure about the wine list, but everything else at Meze Mangal is great – highly recommended.

Had my first ever Pidé here and have not looked back. This place is friendly, cheap and great fun.

That's 'desert', not 'dessert', by the way.

Easily the best place for a decent meal in the New Cross / Lewisham area.

Try to avoid the tables right by the grill and oven - things get a little warm. For that reason it's always worth booking, even midweek, because it seems to be busy every night.

The wine list is (almost?) exclusively Turkish. Had a stinker of a bottle at the lower end once, but the upper end (only £12-£16 anyway) is perfectly pleasant and quaffable.

You wouldn't make a special trip to this little Turkish Caff on a fairly barren stretch of Lewisham Way, but if you ever find yourself down in SE13 and in need of a slap-up meal, Meze Mangal is definitely the place to go.

The food is excellent and really cheap, with mezzes around 3 quid, main courses at £8-9 and delicious pides (Turkish pizza-type things) around 6 quid. As a result the place seems permanently packed with appreciative locals. They're really friendly in there, too. The decor is warm and cosy, complete with open kitchen and wood fired oven in the middle. It's also a little bit retro, or maybe that's the Eastern European feel - it actually reminded us of the typical restaurants we saw on a trip to rural Albania last year. (Except there are no animal skins, you'll be pleased to know).
