124 Brick Lane, London, E1 6RU

Went there for lunch and were very disappointed. The starters were not fresh and had "fried" as primary taste. The dosas we had were not really good aswell. The staff was a bit slow and not all of them wore clean clothes. When we ordered a water and a beer, we got 640ml beer (for lunch!) and a liter bottle of water. I noted that i only wanted a glass of water, but the waiter ignore this.

It´s hard to make a choice between all the indian restaurants on Brick Lane most of which are in the same price range. But I´d say you can skip trying out Prithi & Preem, mainly because the taste of the food was below average.

A restaurant above the cut for Brick Lane - the food was very tasty and not that greasy as the other review says. As well as the usual Indian restaurant fare there are also some very well-recommended specials which are worth delving into. Can be a bit chaotic on a Friday or Saturday night but then, where isn't?

Part of the Preem restaurant group in Brick Lane, Prithi gets your attention right away with its striking murals.

With its cafe like atmosphere and authentic surroundings the service is faultless and the overall dining experience makes people keep going back time after time.

Eating Indian food is a delicate matter for many. A lot of the food is high in calories and can be very greasy. If you fancy a bit of a change and don´t want to pile on the pounds, then head down to the Prithi restaurant and Balti House in the East End of London.

The food tastes just as good, if not better than other restaurants but the secret is in the way it´s cooked. Most of the curries are cooked in the oven and oil is kept to a minimum. The natural fat of the meat is used to enhance the flavour.

Mr. Hussain who is head chef and owner also has four restaurants in Stockholm, where he has won Chef of the Year five times. The restaurant has received lots of editorial throughout the world. How can a man have such an effect on the restaurant world? Through his style and methods of cooking. It has now reached a stage where he teaches other Asian chefs on a regular basis on how to prepare their dishes.
