It was my first trip to london. By chance ,i found this place maybe i was lucky so i had an opportunity to experience the Moroccan cuisine which i hadn't had since my last trip to Morocco in 2002.The service was good and the food was excellent. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to discover the beauty and good taste of the Moroccan cuisine.

The best Moroccan cuisine right here in London

The food here is really, really good and it deserves to be a five star restaurant. It reminds me of the good Moroccan cuisine during my recent visit to Morocco. The waiters are excellent and greet you with a warm welcome and they are happy to make suggestions and talk through the menue to find you something you would enjoy. For a starter I had Moroccan soup called Harrira. For a main, I had the Tagine. I would highly recommend both. For dessert, I had the Moroccan-style pastries I cannot really put it into words. Order some you will enjoy it. The atmosphere in general is excellent for night out with friends or family.
If you try it, I am sure you will go back again.

I wish I could agree with curlynewf as her review was pretty inspiring and made me want to discover the place, unfortunately my experience was vastly different :(

We organised a dinner amongst a large group of North africans and this review is representative of the unanimous view shared that evening: the quality of the food really wasn't all that special. The soup we had for starters tasted burnt (the response we'd been given was that we were late (which we were) and that it had been reheated for us, hence the result - I'll leave it to the reader to make their own mind up on whether that's a reasonable explanation. I had my views!). The couscous which came at a hefty average price of £12 was of standard quality at best, whilst its presentation left much to be desired (to give you an idea, a good couscous at a typical north african restaurant should cost no more than £7). We only sampled those two meals to keep the logistics simple so I am not able to comment on any other dishes. I would have expected the bill not to include the soup starters or at least give us a discount given every single person on the table complained of the same thing, but that wasn't suggested by the owners (big no no on that one.. this is a very good example of how one can lose customers for life).

The 2 restaurant staff who provided the service that evening were friendly (they were probably also the managers), which slightly alleviated the poor culinary experience, but that's about all I can say about the place unfortunately. It's pretty small so feels intimate although something was really missing in the atmosphere. It felt dreary and in need of an injection of joie de vivre.

I really don't like writing negative reviews but I wanted to balance out curlynewf's review as our experience was unfortunately very different :(

I don't know why this place isn't packed every night The selfish me is kind of happy about that (no lines or reservations to deal with), but it's not right. The food here is really, really good and it deserves to be gushed over and talked about and eaten by snobby foodies all over town every night of the week. It's a touch pricier than the other Moroccan cafes nearby, but definitely worth it. The owners are a husband and wife team, I believe, and he is normally the one who greets you and takes your order. He is happy to make suggestions and talk through your likes and dislikes to find you something you'd enjoy. And enjoyed I did. For a starter I had the goats cheese B'Stella filo pastry with almond mix and a honey/mustard dressing. For a main I had the Tagine d'Essouera which is Monk Fish cooked with Mussels and Prawns in seven Spices. I'd highly recommend both. For dessert I had the Moroccan-style cheesecake I can't really put it into words, but if you have room, just make sure you order it. It was one of the best I've ever eaten.
