Reviews for City Cafe

Good quality food at reasonable prices for Central London. The staff are invariablly cheerful and friendly but invariably have limited English. They will usually have some special deal to offer you, set menu etc but you may struggle to understand it.

So what can we say about City Café? It is truly fantastic, with an uber-cool décor, and a simple menu of pretension-free food. Enjoy seasonal menus, vegetarian choices, healthy options and an extensive wine list can all be enjoyed in the ultra stylish restaurant surroundings or dine alfresco from the summer terrace menu on the uniquely conceived Art Street, created by artist Susanna Heron.

City Café is located in a hotel, but (as is often the case) you don´t get the usual slightly sterile feel.

The service is speedy, jovial and well informed, and the dished served up are out of this world.

Innovative modern European cuisine comes courtesy of City Café head chef Peter Lloyd. Lloyd was formerly Head Chef of Bank Aldwych and brings experience, enthusiasm, highly-developed professional skills and personal drive to his new position at City Inn Westminster. He is eager to expand his current skills and further his own capabilities as City Inn´s executive chef. He comments: 'By focusing on fresh, quality and well-sourced ingredients, creating innovative menus and the continuous training of my team, I look forward to producing a consistently high standard of dining.' Lloyd´s previous posts include appointments at The Dorchester Hotel, The House of Commons, and Simpson´s in The Strand (Chequers restaurant) and onboard M Y Virginian as private head chef for Sir Anthony and Lady Bamford.
