Haandi specialises in North Indian Frontier Cuisine and once you have sampled the delicacies on its menu, you won't be content with second best. Spices and herbs accompanying the fish, shellfish, chicken, lamb and vegetables have been selected not merely for their subtlety of flavours, but also for their health-promoting properties. Chillies are rich in Vitamin C; Methi (Fenugreek) peps up the liver; ginger and peppercorns aid digestion; mint is cooling. And true to the spirits of Indian cooking, Haandi's chefs prepare masalas fresh each day.
Reviews for Haandi Knightsbridge
Haandi is less well known than Indian restaurants like Benares, yet it has a higher rating in the Good Food Guide. It cooks authentic Punjabi cuisine, and has a sister restaurant in Edgeware. The tandoori dishes are outstanding e.g. chicken burra tikka, and it is very strong on vegetable dishes, which it avoids making into a mush as so often happens. Paratha is the best bread here. Given that it is in Knightsbridge prices are very fair, maybe £30 a head with drinks.
