Reviews for Weng Wah House
we were on a friends hen nite. the manager must have been in a foul mood as we were treated appalingly. They tryed to rip us off by overcharging us and stealing the deposit. A real shame as i had been there before and had a good time. as a restaurnanter myself i was disgusted at our treatment. would advise to avoid at all costs, unless you are in the habit of being told you have to pay a service charge for the most disgracefull service i have ever endured. the manager was especially bad!
Weng wah on haverstockhill is a lovely place to have an chinese lunch. It is only a 2 minute walk from belsize park tube and if you want to have lunch out it's the perfect place to go. The waiters are friendly and there are fish in tanks next to you. The food is good with all the authentic chinese food. You can rent out the floor upstairs for parties and they have a karioke for a karioke party. The atmosphere is lively and bubbly. The food is good and it is nice but sometimes the service is slow on some days i've been the food hasn't been as good as it's ususal.
The reason that i say this chinese food is average is slighly misleading. The food is not average it is actaully very good, tasty and well prepared. I say it is average because this is not cheap food, and for the price is it entirely average as you can pay the same amount and get a far superior meal at other restaurants. (Plus the fact that i think i once got food poisoning there) but i have eaten there countless other times becuase it is near my house and provides a good meal. Upstairs there is a karaoke bar which houses many karoake nights. The restaurant is clean, with friendly staff who provide a good service. All in all i do reccomend it even thought it isnt the greatest food in the world.
Weng Wah is at a level with the top Chinese restaurants in London. In the upmarket area of Haverstock Hill in Belsize Park, Weng Wah continues to change and adapt in an area where only the best is expected.
The menu is carefully selected to offer an adventurous range of dishes, blending age-old tradition with modern innovation. Each dish is an original and the menu ingredients are bought fresh daily. Sauces and marinades are unique to Weng Wah´s own recipes but are still recognisable to traditional tastes.
The menu covers lunch and dinner and offers a choice of over 160 dishes. The set menu allows the customer even more choice, with options such as Beef Fillet and Dover Sole available.
The interior is a spacious dining area for 60. A traditional aquarium offers a relaxed atmosphere, while unique and limited edition Chinese art provides additional ambience.
