Reviews for Koi

Located near the Kensington Garden Hotel and Royal Albert hall, Koi, is at the very start of Palace Gate. For a quiet and discrete Sushi experience that is easily amongst the best in London, this is the place to go to. Slightly better than Nobu for Sushi (despite Nobu London's prestigious 1 Michelin Star and no.30 San Pellegrino world ranking), although I do prefer Nobu for entrees and an overall experience and ambience.

The Dragon Roll sushi is outstanding, from the perfect ripeness of the avocado and more, as is the soft shell crab roll.

It's not cheap though, and you should expect to spend between £30 and £40 a head here with just a beer or soft drink.

I went twice to Koi in South Ken and to be honest I was a bit disappointed. Sushi was good both times but for the price we paid... mmm, I guess I'm not coming back again.
The place is very nice, especially if you are seated downstairs.
If you want good sushi and are not bothered by the price then go there, otherwise think about it twice...
There are a few tables where they cook your meal just in front of you and it's pretty amazing (despite the smell you'll bring back home).
It could easily be a 4-star except for the fact that I came out hungrier than when I got in! The bill... it really depends on what you eat, but for a decent dinner with wine forget to stay below £30 each.
