Reviews for No. 5 Cavendish Square
A "members bar". When robcarter said we'd be meeting in a "members bar" I got very excited, and thought, "this is the first members bar I have been to in London, this is going to be very exciting". But, through no fault of Rob's, I hasten to add, No. 5 Cavendish Square was quite a letdown. Expensive. Lacking character. Pretentious, dare I say? Snobby, for sure. I bought a bottle of mediocre wine to share, and that was me done for the night. Can't remember how much it was, but it was a lot. And yes, Vanessa Feltz was there at the next table, but she was looking so fat that it put me off my salted peanuts.
I don't know if Vanessa Feltz counts but thats the most celebrity person I have seen here. They have gone onto better things as can be seen from the photos.
Expensive, over-airconditioned, 'members only' bar (be a member for a night by phoning in advance and asking for a guestlist), with restaurant and roof terrace as well as a cigar bar, 6 '5-star' guest suites, basement nightclub, and a cafe. All sounds wonderful in theory but fails to delivery any soul.
Wrecks your wallet and you don't feel privileged for it.
