I absolutely love Japanese food. My prior haunt was Kulu Kulu, near Seven Dials, but myself and my friend wanted to branch out a bit and sample a few new places!

Hi Sushi has a buffet deal for around £15 per head. You are given two pieces of paper - one for sushi (all-you-can-eat) and one for hot food (one off order). The hot food includes miso soup, edamame, steamed rice, vegetable spring rolls, prawn tempura and so on. The only problem with Hi Sushi is that the buffet list for the sushi is quite limited and rather salmon based; although that is to be expected from the price. Having said that, the quality of the seafood is impeccable as is the hot food.

The people who work there are patient and very smiley. It's a very relaxed place. Despite the buffet menu having a limit of one and a half hours, I've never felt pressure to leave.

There are a choice of tables. You can either sit upstairs at a booth (ideal for two people), or if there's 3 or more, there are tables which cater for more people downstairs. This in itself is an experience, as the tables are pretty much on the floor and you have to get down on your knees and stick your legs into a hole beneath the table to sit down.

All in all, I absolutely LOVE this place just because it's the perfect combination of everything. There's a wonderful atmosphere, the waitresses are friendly, the food is fabulous and good value for money. Recommended!
