Reviews for Best Mangal
As kebabs go this has got to be one of the best round. No jazz to offer like the Marathon on Chalk farm, but some dam good shish and lamb shawarma. Best Mangal indeed.
I agree with CaffeineHit and all the others. I live just 1 minute up the road and I find it hard to walk by that place without being dragged in by its sweet smell. I am a very big Kebab fan, namely of the lebanese Shawerma variety however, I have to admit that these ones score VERY high, specially the Lamb Shish Kebab. Simply scrumptious. Buraco, I have never been offered tea but will be sure to ask for it next time I go. I guess he only bad thing about Best Mangal is that it closes at 1am.
There's nothing better than getting back to West Ken at 1am with the munchies knowing that you've got Best Mangal pretty much opposite your house.
The kebabs in this place is amazing, every time they taste just as good. Find yourself in this neck of the woods I'd make the journey and see what all the fuss is about, it's amazing!
Best Mangal honestly has the best chicken kebabs in all of London. I lived next to this place on North End Road for 3 years, and was a frequent and loyal customer to this place. The restaurant decor is not much to write home about, but the service is friendly and the kebabs are just so succulent and juicy that it almost beggars belief. Cooked over charcoal, the flavours really make your mouth water, especially with an ice-cold beer.
This is another unpretentious and heavenly kebab sanctuary. It was my local, refined kebab counter/restaurant when I was a student living in the area, many years ago. The kebabs are fresh and delicious and served, not in the usual pitta bread but in thin "roll-bread" with yummy sauces. An equal-match alternative to "Bosphorus" in South Kensington. Another Turkish mini-delight!
Best Mangal is well known to be one of the best kebab places in London. The food is just delicious there!
I can testify to Niko's previous comments that this is home to the finest kebabs in London. There really is nothing finer after a few pints, but be careful how you handle them. I once made the mistake of clutching my fresh kebab close to my chest and running the 500 yards back to the house, only to find upon arrival that I'd been dripping garlic/chilli sauce all down my shirt, tie and suit. I subsequently fell asleep in a post-kebab state of bliss and awoke the next morning with the aforementioned mixture nicely dried where it had fallen. Oh what a night!
Be sure to try the tea that they normally offer you while your lovely kebab is on the bbq - its a real treat.
