Reviews for Piccolo Diavolo

Small traditional Italian cafe with friendly and cheerful Italian staff who were fabulous with the children. Food nice, not outstanding, but good value for money. The pizzas are enormous and the veal was very good. Be aware that you do need to order vegetables as a side dish. The lemon sorbet - served inside a hollowed out frozen lemon - was a fine way to finish. It was pleasant to feel we could linger without being pushed out the door to make way for more diners. We will return.

read the previous reviews so thought this would be good. Starters of garlic pizza bread and Tuna salad were ok.they didn't do children's meals which for a supposed"family Restaurant" is a little disappointing.

my wife had veal for main which was ok but very basic with no vegetables at all. I ordered Mushroom Risotto which was very overcooked and very bland. I think it had been cooked at 12pm and waiting for me to order it at 1345.....Pizza my daughter had was good although too big as they didn't do children's meals...

All in all very disappointing.

I've been to Piccolo Diavolo a few times, and have stayed mostly happy with my visits. I would advise customers to go for the meat/fish main courses as the pasta/pizza is not as good as those. Main recommendation is the vitello a la milanesa (Breaded veal fillet) which definitely reminds me of the great food I've had in Italy. The waiters are very warm, but sometimes the restaurant can feel very intrusive as the tables are crowded together and if it's too full there's not much privacy, but then again this is the original Italian feel (there's evern Chianti bottles hanging all around).
Overall a good little place to eat if you're around Soho and looking for something traditional/family-like.

Piccolo Diavlo comes well recommended from friends and family so I just had to try it out! As with many independent Italian restaurants in London, the feel of the place is romantic and homely. The waiting staff are unbelievably friendly, but not too in your face. The food is out of this world. I have now been there a couple of times and have two recommendations! The first is the veal – all I can say is WOW! Not had anything like this before, it just melts in your mouth. The other is the lasagne. I usually go for something like this and it’s the best yet!

This fantastic Italian is part of the quality Italian restaurant group Biagio.

The creative force and driving talent behind Biagio Restaurant Group is Biagio Caroleo himself. He came to England from Italy in 1969 after leaving home at 14 years of age and working on cruise ships as a waiter, travelling around the world.

He bought his first restaurant in 1973 and has steadily grown his business to what are now 6 very successful restaurants.

Piccolo Diavolo customers receive the best quality Italian food, freshly prepared and served at an affordable price.

I've been here for a number of birthdays and for dinner with friends. Service is always really friendly, and has really made the difference between a nice meal and something to remember. This makes the atmosphere absolutely great. You see a number of families in there, and I think that it's a friendly place that you could take children. Food is really good - huge selection on the menu. Leave lots of time to decide! The place is fairly small, so makes make sure you book because it does get busy.

One other thing: they didn't rush us at all throughout the entire evening. Normally places push you out as soon as they can.
