  Cheap tasty treat

  This is an excellent place to stop by for a quick bite. The decor leaves a little to be desired (it's a little dingy), but the food and beer are cheap and the service is quick and efficient. The place has the feel of a Mediterranean local cantina, and it is in fact frequented by many Portuguese speakers. The spicy sausages are especially tasty.

  This is the sort of place you would never go, unless you knew it, which I suppose makes it perfect for this website. One of many Portuguese hangouts in Stockwell (or Little Portugal as it is sometimes known) this place is the best of the local bunch. Offering the cheapest beers around (we're talking under 1.50 here) and a great menu of authentic, tasty and cheap meals, this place is perfect for a good feed on a budget (especially if you like fish) or even just a few beers with your amigos. Friendly staff and Portuguese TV adds to the feeling that you've wandered into Lisbon, but beware entering if there's a big footy game (involving Porto, Benfica or even Portugal on) as it will get lively!
