Cheap Lunchtimes
As a cheap lunchtime haunt this is pretty good. It's hard to turn up your nose at the 3:50 lunch especially on a cold day. The place is quiet with a solemn, slow air. Perhaps its the thick old-fashioned tableclothes or the air of mystery & polite reserve that the head waiter has that help create this ambiance. The food is cheap, good value but lacks sparkle - the ingredients have just been hanging around too long. Never order a takeway from them - it takes forever - by the time it arrives you could have passed out from low blood sugar, and the stuff is colder than a fishes nose.
