    Easy going

What could be an awful excercise in corporate fast food cynicism is actually one of the more acceptable chains to grab a burger and shake in London. Milkshakes, as others have pointed out, are the highlight at Eds, but the burgers will give many more expensive places a run for their money and actually the best of the branches I've tried is the Picadilly Circus outlet - strange, given its awful location.

    Milkshakes!

The food is good, but the milkshakes are honestly amazing. The food always comes in great sized portions that will definitely fill you up. Crisp chips, and juicy burgers - what more could you ask for? But the food is only half of the appeal of this place. The 1950s american diner decor is certainly endearing, and the whole 50s vibe is just accentuated by the little jukeboxes on the tables. 20p, and your choice of decade appropriate song will play throughout the diner, from the Age of Aquarius to the Beach Boys classic Don't Worry, Baby. The only risk is your fellow diners getting fed up of you inflicting your poor taste on them!

Possibly the best milkshake in the world...

Anyone who's never been to an Ed's diner is missing out on a fun eating experience. It is based on a stereotypical 1950's american diner, including little juke-boxes on the tables. You can even sit at the counter if that's what you want! You watch your food being cooked which is nice. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service is always superb. The food is decieving though, it doesn't look like a lot until you start eating - wear loose trousers! And try the milkshakes - they're like a meal on their own! This has to be one of my favourite restaurants, it makes food fun.
