Reviews for Bombay Brasserie

After a major mix up with our booking, we were told our reservation had to be cancelled. My sister and I (eventually) took our mother here for her 70th birthday. The owner was extremely apologetic and made it a night to remember. On arrival my mother received a beautiful bouquet of flowers and we all sipped champagne in the lovely bar area until our table was ready. The decor was lovely - a very tranquil setting. The food was exceptional, we all had an asparagus, lime and coconut soup to start and we all had meat thalis for main course. It was all absolutely delicious. To complete the evening the owner said that because our reservation had been messed up, everything was on him! It was definitely a night to remember.

Upon entering the place, you will be well pleased you choose this restaurant. Excellent decor, the restaurant is nicely laid out and gives the appearance of being rather large and spaceous of which it is.

This has to be by far the best indian/pakistani restaurant I have eaten in. The waiting staff very friendly and the food was as good as it gets. I order a boneless lamb curry which was cooked to perfection,I tend to order chicken dishes as you can't go wrong with chicken (too much) But this time I ordered the lambe curry and I am glad I did so, the portions were a good size and the meat was cooked nicely. The nans were not to dry and the peshwari nan was moist and well cooked. Only downside was that the bill was abit on the expensive side, But if you can afford it and your only going maybe once a month then this would deffinatley be the place to go, Highly recommended

A real taste of Colonial spice is the order of the day at the Bombay Brasserie - none of your chicken tikka masalla here!

Authentic regional Indian dishes are served with flair and care in a sumptuous room attached to one of London's most faceless hotels. Enter through a palm-tree lined walkway to a space where the waiters greet you like a long lost friend, and prepare to excite your tastebuds.

Nothing it so spicy that you need to gulp down 15 pints of lager! and everything is prepared with such care that you cna try all sorts of new ideas with no worries about whether you're going to like them!

A la carte isn't the cheapest way of experiencing the delights on offer - locals know to come round at lunchtime and enjoy the "all you can eat" buffet, which always surprises and delights in equal measure. And watch out for London's biggest wine glasses - it's like drinking out of a goldfish bowl!

The reason for the title comes from the decor inside the restaurant where you can almost feel the Colonial influence the moment you walk in. It just oozes of the olden days, times gone past. Far from Urban Chic and latest design techniques, this place has a soul.

I am no expert on Indian food, far from it but have to say that the dishes I was served (and the food I tasted from my co diners' plates) was delicious. I particularly liked a starter called "Palak Pakodi Chaat". It is a fairly big plate of Large spinach leaves, coated with a thin gram flour batter, deep fried to make crisp spinach pakodas which are topped with sweet chutney and yoghurt and sprinkled with roasted cumin powder. Simply divine.

The Service was very attentive without being over the top. The waiters Maitre D and chefs were all very friendly. I will definitely be going again to try out the rest of the menu.
