What a mixture! Chinese and Indian. I didn't quite think it would work when I first heard about it, but having dined here several times since, it obviously does. It's a lovely place, with a nice, modern-looking interior which isn't too posh or overwhelming. The staff always welcome us with a smile and seem to know us as regulars now.

You can sit in the larger open area, a nice private corner, and there's also a slightly lower area which is good when it gets busy. Usually, I'll have the indian foods, some of which I think are actually Nepalese (but I could be wrong!) My husband enjoys the Chinese dishes more, but he sometimes has to "suffer" the lovely pakoras and curries which are on offer.

The prices are another high point - you can get a good 3-course meal for about £20 including a drink, so if you're after a night out but don't want to spend TOO much, give it a go.

The only thing I'd caution against is it's in quite a busy road, and sometimes getting parked can be a problem, so if you want a peaceful night, maybe go a bit earlier than normal. Other than that, enjoy your multicultural meal!

Sathiyams restaurant is based on Romford Road and in my opinion one of the good indian restaurants and catering services in Ilford. There are also several other restaurants on the same road but they do not have the same pleasant interior setting as this one. They have a very decent interior and fantastic seating that has been divided into two parts on the ground level and for extra seating they also have a lower level. It is very pleasant and excellent setting for either party dinners or family dinners (The hall can also be hired privately for parties and the like). It can get crowded sometimes but most of the time you can be assured that you will get a table.

The food is exceptionally good and they serve either typical authentic south indian food (which we love) and also north indian food which is also really good. They also have chinese but personally we have never tried it. The service is really good and the staff are really polite and friendly. The price range is really good value for money and we absolutely love this place. Give it a try.
